Tips for stopping flies getting into your home

Almost all flies are attracted to filth, which they both eat and lay eggs in. Therefore the key to preventing flies setting up home is simply good sanitation.

Make sure your bin has a tight fitting lid. Cover all compost piles with black plastic sheeting, as flies like to breed in them. By covering you will also help any organic matter to decompose more quickly.

If you have pets, make sure you pick up any animal waste regularly, especially if it is warmer outside. Also try not to let fruit or vegetables rot in your garden, and remove any decaying plant material regularly.

By following these steps at home you can help to keep the flies at bay.

House sale prices increase

The UK economy has finally turned a corner and is leaving recession. That means confidence in the economy is slowly recovering and, as part of that, house prices are rising.

House sale prices have long been used as an indicator of economic health in the country. For example, house prices were rising dramatically during the last economic boom, and houses were still being snapped up.

In the midst of the economic contraction, some sellers had to slash their asking price significantly to get a sale.

Now that house prices are beginning to rise again, people are sure to be more optimistic about the economy.
